Frequently Asked Questions
When is the last day I can RSVP for KaPWA?
Thursday, April 4, 2024 @ 11:59pm
What buildings will KaPWA be located at?
Our event will be hosted at Tom Bradley International Hall. This link shows you the location and the directions to get there. Specifically, we recommend parking at Dykstra Parking Structure DD (409 Charles E Young Drive West, Los Angeles, CA 90095). You can use Google Maps or any app to get there. Please note that all-day parking costs $14, and we cannot reimburse for parking at this time.
Will transportation be provided?
If you are within the LA county area or are flying to LAX during the days of KaPWA, we may be able to provide transportation; we will keep you updated! UPDATE: Flight or Uber costs cannot be reimbursed at this moment.
Will breakfast/lunch/dinner be provided?
Yes! This year we are very fortunate to be able to offer KaPWA attendees multiple opportunities to enjoy meals at UCLA’s top rated dining halls. There will be complimentary breakfast options on both Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. Additionally, complimentary dinner will be provided on Saturday, April 13 provided by House of Grill Catering as well as UCLA dining hall food on Friday, April 12.
Are parents welcome to attend the event?
Unfortunately, due to the number of attendees and volunteers we are expected to host for KaPWA this year, we are unable to accommodate a component where parents can be involved.
If I park at Dykstra Parking (Structure DD), will there be student volunteers to help guide me to the event location?
Yes! We will definitely have volunteers available to walk with admits from the parking structure to the designated location.
How many admits and current students are we expecting to be at the event?
We are hoping around 100-175 attendees to be present, specifically 50+ admits and 75+ volunteers.
May I come late and or leave early anytime during the event?
It is highly encouraged that you try to stay for the entire duration of the event to get the most out of KaPWA! However, if you have to leave, it is required that you tell your group leader (will be placed in an assigned group) or the KaPWA coordinator (Liana Duque). If you are lost and need directions to the current location, we will have a GroupMe available here where you can ask questions and our student volunteers should be able to assist you.
Will I be guaranteed housing should I attend KaPWA?
Because the amount of housing we have available is limited, housing is prioritized to Admits that do not live in the area. We will try our best to accommodate every admit that requests housing but it is not a guarantee. We highly encourage any admit that is interested to fill out our Prospective Student Housing Form.
If I am matched with a student host to live in the UCLA residential halls, what should I expect to bring?
Admits are advised to bring their own toiletries, change of clothes for three days, comfortable shoes for walking around campus, a water bottle, chargers or power banks, light jacket or sweatshirt for evenings, and spending money for souvenirs (optional). We are also highly recommending admits to bring a pillow and sleeping bag.
