Pilipino Recruitment and Enrichment Program’s (PREP) annual “Day In a Life” (DIAL) is a high school conference during which around 200-250 high school students from Los Angeles County from underrepresented and underprivileged backgrounds are provided the opportunity to spend a day at UCLA. DIAL aims to offer high school students within the Los Angeles area insight into contemporary college life, encourage them that higher education is an accessible path, and provide academic resources to help them attain it. This year’s DIAL will take place on February 23, 2024 at Ackerman Grand Ballroom at UCLA from 9am-3pm. 

Through DIAL, we hope to empower and equip high school students with the growth mindset and practical means of pursuing their desired form of higher education. This year, DIAL will focus on the importance of retention and promotion of higher education amongst different communities. During the event, students will tour the campus and experience a college environment, attend workshops geared towards explaining UCLA resources and general information for different avenues of higher education (i.e., college admissions, financial aid, school culture, etc.), learn more about UCLA students and their own experiences as undergraduates via diversified student panels and testimonies, meet other student organizations at UCLA, and so much more.
